Tracy H Smith III
Tracy H. Smith III is a devoted father, advocate, and storyteller whose life experience is the foundation of everything he creates. Born and raised in Mississippi, Tracy became a father at 20 and found himself in a custody battle just four years later. He won, not just in court, but in life. By turning pain into purpose, Tracy earned primary custody of his daughter and began living the story that would one day help thousands of men do the same.Today, he’s the author of Thanks for the Advice, Dad. A raw, honest, and empowering guide for single fathers fighting to stay present in their children’s lives. But the book is only the beginning.Through his platform, The Trayshades Experience, Tracy is building a movement: one that challenges broken systems, breaks generational silence, and gives men, especially Black men, the tools to heal, lead, and show up with purpose. He’s not just writing books. He’s creating tools. Whether it’s a fatherhood journal, a powerful card game on love and legacy, or a digital rights toolkit for dads in family court, everything Tracy produces is rooted in real experience and real results. With 16 years of experience in sales and leadership, Tracy knows how to cut through noise and connect with people where they are. He brings that same clarity and strategy to his writing and advocacy work. He’s spoken to young men, mentored single fathers, and continues to fight for systems that protect, not punish, men who want to be present. When he’s not writing or mentoring, Tracy is building brands, leading community events, and planning the next chapter of The Trayshades Experience. His work is fueled by his love for his daughter Essence, his deep respect for fatherhood, and his belief that no man should be left out of his child’s life because of broken systems, biased courts, or lack of knowledge.Tracy’s mission is simple: Help men heal. Help fathers win. Help families grow.
